The Coronavirus Vaccination Process Began in Turkey

The Covid-19 pandemic, which infects more than 65 million people around the world and causes hundreds of thousands of casualties, continues to be effective. The rapidly transmitted coronavirus has hit all countries around the world in an unprecedented way. Many countries struggling for an effective vaccine against the virus have come to the end of their vaccine studies. Today, various countries such as China, Russia, Germany, and the United Kingdom have announced that they have achieved successful results in vaccination studies and are nearing an end.

Turkey is one of the first countries to begin vaccination for Coronavirus

Turkey was the country that volunteered to test vaccines developed in China. As a result of the successful results of vaccine trials were ordered Turkey 50 million doses of vaccine from China. Turkey started with immunization activities in January and was one of the first countries to begin vaccination.

When the coronavirus vaccines arrived in Turkey, the first internationally accredited Public Health and Turkey Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) analyzed them in laboratories. As a result of these examinations, the vaccine was evaluated by TITCK after the safety tests of the vaccine are positive and the early results of the Phase 3 studies are announced, and an early use permit was granted. Following approval of the vaccine inoculation began officially in Turkey. The first vaccine was given to the Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca. The vaccine will be administered in two doses, 28 days apart.

The coronavirus vaccination process officially began in Turkey

Firstly, Healthcare Professionals and Elderly People Over 65 Years of Age

Following the vaccine approval, general priorities will be determined by the Science Committee, considering certain factors such as mortality, infection, and negative social impact. Vaccination will be done in 4 stages according to these determined priorities.

- In the first stage, healthcare professionals, elderly people over 65, disabled people, adults living in mass and crowded places, such as in shelters,

- In the second stage, people who work in high-risk environments and work in critical jobs in sectors necessary for the functioning of society and people over the age of 50 with at least one chronic disease,

- In the third stage, people under the age of 50 with at least one chronic disease, young adults, working in sectors and professions not included in the first two groups,

- In the fourth stage, all individuals except the first three stages are planned to be vaccinated.

The new measures were taken within the scope of the fight against coronaviruses in Turkey. Until vaccination is applied to a large part of the population and a positive result is achieved, it is of great importance to follow the new measures. The vaccines will come from China will be administered free of charge to all citizens in Turkey.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca pointed out that local vaccination studies are also continuing and the date for the end of the studies is April.
